Frequently Asked Questions

What types of therapy do you offer?

I take a collaborative approach to therapy, working with you as a partner to create a safe, supportive space where you can explore your thoughts, emotions, and goals. My therapeutic style integrates a variety of evidence-based approaches tailored to your unique needs:

  • Gestalt Therapy: I help you become more aware of your present thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, encouraging you to experience and process emotions in the here-and-now to gain insights and clarity.

  • Person-Centered Therapy: I offer a compassionate, nonjudgmental environment where you can feel truly heard. This approach emphasizes unconditional positive regard and empathy, allowing you to explore yourself without fear of judgment.

  • Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT): We work together to help you accept difficult emotions and thoughts rather than avoid them, while also identifying and committing to actions aligned with your values and life goals.

  • Strengths-Based Therapy: I focus on your existing strengths and resources, helping you build on these to navigate challenges and foster resilience.

Together, we’ll work on creating meaningful change, developing new coping strategies, and cultivating a deeper sense of self-awareness and empowerment. My goal is to support you in finding the tools that work best for you, so you can lead a more fulfilling life.

How do I know if therapy is right for me?

Deciding to start therapy can feel like a big step, and it's completely normal to have questions about whether it's the right choice for you. Therapy can be beneficial for anyone looking to improve their mental health, work through challenges, or better understand themselves. Here are a few signs that therapy might be a helpful next step for you:

  • You’re feeling overwhelmed by stress, anxiety, or other emotions and need support in coping with these feelings.

  • You’re stuck in unhelpful patterns or behaviors and want to make positive changes in your life.

  • You’re struggling with self-doubt or low self-esteem and want to build confidence and self-acceptance.

  • You’re facing difficulties in relationships and want to improve communication, trust, or connection with others.

  • You’re going through a life transition, such as a career change, breakup, or major life event, and could use guidance and support.

Therapy is a space where you can be heard, understood, and empowered to make lasting changes. Whether you're dealing with specific concerns like anxiety or depression, or you're looking to gain deeper self-awareness, therapy can help you navigate life's challenges with greater clarity and confidence.

If you're unsure, the best way to find out if therapy is right for you is to give it a try. Together, we’ll explore your goals, struggles, and strengths, and determine how therapy can best support you in moving forward.
